Calcuit answers the small numerical questions that interrupt your day: how many pounds is that, what would the payment be, how much does leaving the heater on actually cost.

There are 1,022 conversion pages across 12 unit families and 10 calculators. Every one of them is generated from a single table of units and formulas, so the answer on one page can never contradict the answer on another.

Where the numbers come from

Conversion factors follow the SI definitions and the international yard and pound agreement of 1959, which is what fixes the inch at exactly 25.4 millimetres. Where a unit has more than one definition — the gallon, the ton, the calorie — both variants are listed separately rather than quietly picking one.

Financial calculators use standard amortisation and compounding formulas and state their assumptions on the page. They are illustrations, not quotes, and they do not know your tax situation.

How the site is funded

Advertising, and nothing else. There is no paywall, no newsletter upsell and no data brokerage. If you choose essential cookies only, AdSense does not load and you get the identical site without ads — see the privacy policy and cookie policy.

Corrections

If a factor looks wrong, it probably is worth reporting. Conversion errors are the one bug that quietly makes a reference site useless.
