How to read the result
BMI is a crude population statistic that ignores muscle, frame and body composition. It is still what most forms and insurers ask for.
The useful output is not the single number but the weight range that corresponds to it at your height.
This page is set to Poland and prints PLN. Defaults to kilograms and centimetres. Every figure is a starting point you should overwrite with your own.

Questions people ask
- Why does BMI overstate risk for muscular people?
- It only knows height and weight, so dense muscle and stored fat are indistinguishable to the formula.
- Which units does Poland use?
- Kilograms and centimetres, which is what this page starts with for Poland.
- Is there a better single number?
- Waist-to-height ratio tracks metabolic risk more closely and needs only a tape measure. Under 0.5 is the usual target.
